TURLOCK — The Carnegie Arts Center will showcase the work of young artists from across the region later this month as it opens its annual youth exhibition, “Ready, Set, Show!” running May 29 through June 27.
The show invites students in grades K–12 to display up to three pieces of artwork in the center’s Ferrari Gallery, a museum‑quality space in downtown Turlock. Entry is free for all participants, and students may submit work between May 16 and May 23 during regular gallery hours.
“We love showing the work of school‑age artists; it is an important way to encourage young people in our area to be creative,” Executive Director Lisa McDermott said in announcing the exhibition. She noted that support from the Express Yourself! Justin Ferrari Youth Arts Fund helps make the annual event possible.
This year’s show will again feature a special section dedicated to artwork created for the recent “Parks Are Fun!” banner contest. Winning designs are currently displayed throughout downtown Turlock, and all submitted entries will be exhibited in the gallery during the show.
A free Family Friday reception celebrating the artists will open the exhibition on May 29 from 7 to 8 p.m. Admission to the show is free for visitors 18 and younger; general admission is $7, seniors and college students $5, and SNAP EBT cardholders are admitted free. The first Friday of each month offers free admission for all.
The Carnegie Arts Center, located at 250 N. Broadway, is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
