California State University, Stanislaus Professor Nael Aly, who has served as the dean of the College of Business Administration for the last two years has resigned his position, according to university officials.
Aly has been with the university for 25 years and will remain a part of the faculty and teach courses, university spokesperson Kristin Olsen said.
“It’s fairly common that when a university gets a new provost, there are changes in the leadership,” Olsen said.
Herman Lujan took over as the university’s interim provost earlier this year.
Replacing Aly on an interim basis is Thomas Sandman from CSU Sacramento. Sandman was a professor of Information Services and a former department chair of Management Information Science at CSU Sacramento. He earned his doctorate degree in Computer Information Systems from the College of Business at Arizona State University.
Aly has done extensive consulting work on quality management and is a member of the Industrial Engineers, the American Production and Inventory Control Society, and the Production and Operations Management Society.
A native of Egypt and chair of the department of Management, Operations, and Marketing from 1994 to 2007, Aly has had his research published extensively, produced training manuals, and made numerous presentations and technical reports on a variety of business and management topics.
