The only undefeated football team in Turlock High history was in attendance as the Bulldogs celebrated their 2021 homecoming parade. The 1970-1971 team excited the crowd as floats took over a shut down Main Street Friday afternoon.

“I want to thank everyone for coming and supporting our team on this festive day. Hopefully the team has their head game, and they can out victorious. Victory’s a sweet a thing,” said former Turlock High football player David Yonan.

The Senior Class of 2022’s homecoming float is a visit to Disneyland amusement park (PAWAN NAIDU/The Journal).

This year’s theme was “Bulldogs in the Park.” Float themes all correlated to various types of parks, the audience saw anything from Central Park to “Jurassic Park.”

Community members came together and cheered out the various sports and clubs that took over downtown.

“It’s great to see everyone come together and support the kids like this. I moved here pretty recently so it’s great to be part of a community that supports their youth,” said Turlock resident Chloe Decker.

Students were also on hand to cheer on their fellow Bulldogs.

“Homecoming’s the best; everyone dresses up and everyone has so much so spirit. The game tonight is going to be even better, I can’t wait to win and crown one of these girls queen,” said Turlock junior Kate McKinnon.

Students were nominated by their fellow senior classmates for homecoming queen. The entire school voted during homecoming week for the winner. Turlock High played Modesto High on Friday night where homecoming royalty was announced.
