The Turlock Chamber of Commerce isn’t just an organization supporting and promoting local businesses, it’s also an integral part of the community. The Chamber is preparing to host two very different community events, both fundraisers for Chamber programs.
The Chamber is hosting its inaugural Stanislaus Summer Rave, presented by High Regard Records, on from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m. Aug. 22 at the Stanislaus County Fairgrounds. This outdoor rave experience will feature at least 10 acts, including Anrae, Blk&Whit, Dayvie, Fabz, Hot Chocolate, Sweet Tea and more. The event will also feature food vendors and a dance floor.
“This sounds definitely like something that our community needs; people are always looking for something to do,” said Turlock Chamber CEO Allie Jeffery.
“All of the things that happen at the Chamber are free to the public, and we do that by raising funds through community events,” Jeffery continued. “[Since I’ve been at the Chamber], we’ve been focusing more on diversifying what those fun events look like because people who work in our community like to network and mingle in different ways. This gives you a fun way to come out and meet other people.”

“This is a way for our community to grow and grow in a way that people aren’t used to, but that’s okay…I think people are going to have a good time if they go and engage in the community, and it opens the avenue for other artists and people to also join in that,” said David Eighmey of High Regard Records.
In September, the Chamber will host its annual Ag in the Valley fundraiser dinner. This event will benefit the Chamber’s agriculture committee and its scholarships and education programs.
For the past 26 years, the Chamber’s Ag Committee has provided monetary support to over 475 students totaling more than $547,000 in student scholarships. The scholarship committee serves nine local high schools — Pitman, Turlock, Turlock Christian, Delhi, Denair, Hilmar, Hughson, Livingston and Waterford.
Along with the annual scholarships for local students, the Chamber Ag Committee also provides monetary support for educating the public about the Valley’s agricultural heritage. Those education programs include the 4-H Farmyard Experience at the Stanislaus County Fair, Ag in the Classroom, support of the agriculture program at Stanislaus State, and sponsorships of various FFA chapter pancake breakfasts and tri tip dinners.
