Fire in vacant home under investigation

The cause of a fire in a vacant home in the 600 block of C Street is still under investigation.

Turlock City firefighters responded to a call of a fire in a vacant home in the 600 block of C Street at about 12:57 p.m. on Thursday. Fire units arrived to find heavy smoke and fire in the rear of the residence. The fire went to two alarms and was brought under control within 15 minutes, reported the Turlock City Fire department.

No injuries were reported, as the home was vacant and boarded up at the time of the fire.The home sustained moderate smoke and fire damage, according to the fire department. Fourteen firefighters responded to the fire.
