HALLOWEEN FUN IN DOWNTOWN TURLOCK
trick or treat 1
Dancers from Alegria Performing Arts Academy don’t let a little rain stop them (JOE CORTEZ/The Journal).

Turlock’s Main Street was jammed full of witches, princesses, superheroes, and dinosaurs, all celebrating the annual Downtown Trick-or-Treat celebration, in conjunction with the Turlock Certified Farmers Market. The city’s Chamber of Commerce sponsored a kids’ zone in Central Park, complete with games and a bounce house. Meanwhile, on Main Street, revelers could get candy from local businesses, as well as fresh produce, baked goods, and other treats from the vendors who regularly attend the farmers market. And they were entertained by live music and dancers from the Alegria Performing Arts Academy.

The holiday fun will continue on Thursday when the Turlock Police Department hosts its Trick-or-Treat & Meet event from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The community is invited to come out in costume for candy, face painting, activities, Halloween safety tips and to hang out with Turlock police officers. The event will be held at the Public Safety Facility, 244 N. Broadway.
