Hilmar man killed in vehicle rollover

A solo vehicle crash on Golf Link Road in the early morning hours of Friday claimed the life of a 29-year-old Hilmar man.

The deceased was identified as Ruben Genn.

The collision was reported to the California Highway Patrol around 1:40 a.m. Friday at Golf Link Road, north of Johnson Road.

Genn was driving a 1997 Ford ranger southbound on Golf Link Road. The vehicle drifted to the left and off the northbound lane, according to the CHP.

The Ford continued off the dirt shoulder and into a cornfield.

The Ford overturned several times and came to a rest on its roof.

According to the CHP, Genn was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the Ford during the rollover.

Genn was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.

Genn was raised in Hilmar and served in the United States Army as an army engineer. At the time of his death he was working as a truck driver.
