Lockheed F-117 Nighthawk Stealth Aircraft

Castle Air Museum will be holding an Open Cockpit Day on Saturday and hosting a variety of activities. Visitors can get up close and personal with legends like the B-52 Bomber and the SR-71 Blackbird. There will be aircraft from World War II to today's F-18 Blue Angel Hornet, A-6 Intruder and F-16 Fighting Falcon, plus for an extra $10, visitors can tour a former Presidential Aircraft, an Air Force One during the Reagan and Clinton Administrations.

The event also features first responder displays, food vendors and helicopter rides. Attendees can also experience the feel of flying free of power and wings and get a chance to be "Maverick" or "Ice Man" in the F-14 Top Gun Simulator.

Open Cockpit Day will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Castle Air Museum, 5050 Santa Fe Dr., Atwater. Admission is $25 for adults; $20 for youths 13-17, seniors over 62 and active duty military with ID; and $15 for children ages 6-12. Children under 6 are free with a paid adult.
