Locals driving near California State University, Stanislaus have been experiencing delays over the past week due to the City of Turlock’s rehabilitation of Monte Vista Avenue Project that was scheduled to be completed over the university’s Spring Break. However, due to the rain and cool weather, paving has been delayed and the project has been extended until Tuesday.

According to the university, increased traffic congestion and subsequent delays should be expected as the university and surrounding schools return from spring break. Those traveling to and from the university are encouraged to plan accordingly.

The university is discouraging traffic through the Monte Vista Avenue entrances due to the construction and several intersections including Monte Vista Avenue and Geer Road, Monte Vista Avenue and Dels Lane and Monte Vista Avenue and Crowell Road as they remain congested. Due to the construction, the university recommends that individuals coming to the campus allot more time than usual for travel and use alternate routes or entrances off of Chirstoffersen Parkway, Geer Road and Crowell Road.
