The Friends of the Fair Foundation and Stanislaus State Agricultural Studies Department will join together once again this year to celebrate agriculture with an evening of wine and cheese during the 14th annual Tastes of the Valley event.
“Our goal for the Friends of the Fair Foundation is to encourage agriculture education within Stanislaus County,” said Stanislaus County fair CEO Matt Cranford. “Our partnership with Stanislaus State Ag department encourages our community to continue the business of agriculture.”
Throughout the evening, guests will be able to enjoy wine, cheese and hors d’oeuvres and participate in silent and live auctions. Those interested in donating items for the auction are encouraged to contact the Stanislaus County Fairgrounds.
Food will be provided by Hilmar Cheese, as well as a variety of other food vendors and restaurants. The event is expected to bring in 20 wineries, as well as an assortment of craft beers for tasting.
“Stanislaus State Agricultural Studies is proud to partner once again with the Stanislaus County Friends of the Fair Foundation,” said Oluwarotimi Odeh, Professor and Endowed Chair of the Stanislaus State Agricultural Studies Program. “We see this continuing partnership as one that will not only solidify future funding support for our Stanislaus agriculture students, but continue to be a lasting relationship that will support youth and agriculture activities at the Stanislaus County Fair.
“What a great opportunity to come together to benefit two important organizations that support Stanislaus County Agriculture,” continued Odeh.
Proceeds from the event will go towards the Stanislaus State Agricultural Studies Program and the Stanislaus County Friends of the Fair Foundation.
Tastes of the Valley will take place from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Oct. 6 at the Stanislaus County Fairgrounds. Tickets are available for purchase at the Stanislaus County Fairgrounds Office, Stanislaus State Ag Department or online at stancofair.com for $50. For more information, call 668-1333.
