A motorist headed the wrong way on a freeway exit in Turlock collided head-on with another vehicle, sending four to area hospitals.
The current conditions of the four individuals injured in the collision were not available as of Tuesday.
The collision happened around 3 a.m. Sunday on the W. Main Street exit on Highway 99 in Turlock.
One vehicle had entered the northbound exit headed southbound and collided with a vehicle leaving the freeway, according to the Turlock Fire Department.
Fire fighters had to use extrication tools to free one person from the wreckage.
The Turlock Fire Department responded with three engines and a battalion chief for a total of 10 personnel.
All lanes of northbound Highway 99 were closed during the incident.
The California Highway patrol is conducting an investigation into the collision.
