Turlock Police promote two

Two of Turlock’s finest were promoted at a ceremony held at the War Memorial on Tuesday. Miguel Pacheco, a 14-year police veteran was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant, and nine year Turlock Police veteran Dave Shaw was promoted to the rank of Sergeant.

Pacheco was named Officer of the Year in 2011. He was also a Special Weapons and Tactics team leader in 2011, a team he joined in 2002. Pacheco has been a field training officer, defensive tactics instructor and a recruit training officer for the Stanislaus County Regional Training Center.

He was promoted to corporal in 2007, and in 2008, he was promoted to sergeant.

Shaw became a field training officer for the Turlock Police Department in 2006. He was a member of the Central Gang Impact Task Force from 2007 to 2012, and was promoted to corporal in June of this year.
