The Turlock fire and police departments hosted a remembrance ceremony on Sept. 11 in recognition of the lives lost during the terrorist attack in 2001. During the event, Turlock Mayor Gary Soiseth reflected on the events of 9-11 and how he was affected by it.  Soiseth said he would be in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday and would go visit the Pentagon Memorial to pay his respects to the 184 individuals who were killed at that site on Sept. 11, 2001. The four coordinated attacks carried out by al-Qaeda on that day 16 years ago killed 2,996 people total and injured over 6,000 others.
