Charles Albert (Al) Cortopassi

Charles Albert (Al) Cortopassi, 97 years old, lived a long and wonderful Life.  Al was born in Sacramento, CA.  He grew up to enlist in the Merchant Marines and then went on to work in construction, farming and finish carpentry.

Al was a partner in Turlock Auto Parts for many years and finally retired to go into farming.  Al liked to bowl and was a member of the motorhome group “Pleasure Seekers” traveling between California and Arizona.  He was a member of the Lions Club helping with Hilmar Christmas lights, Hilmar Chamber of Commerce and was 2014 “Citizen of the Year”.  Al was always willing to lend a hand and help in the community.

A mentor, Al was a special, loving, patient man who was loved by all who knew him.  The world will not be the same without him and he will be deeply, deeply missed.

Al is survived by his daughters Judy Flodman and Cathy Adams; son-in-law John Adams; sisters Phyllis Philestrae, Julia Dobbins and sister-in-law Roma Cortopassi; 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.  Al was preceded in death by his beloved wife Claire Cortopassi, grandson Alan Adams; son-in-law Lee Flodman; parents Freduccio and Madelana Cortopassi and many siblings. 

A Memorial Service will be held at 1pm, Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at Allen Mortuary.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be donated to Turlock VFW in Al’s name.  Please share your memories at www.AllenMortuary.com.
