Charles Thomas Walker, “Tom,” was born on October 28, 1932 in Cape Girardeau, MO, to John Perry Walker and Francis Pearl Kennedy. He was raised and went to school in Cape Girardeau, where he met Delores McGraw. When they were kids, he fondly remembers always teasing her when they were on the church bus.

Tom enlisted in the Marines in 1949 and married Delores in August of 1952, a few months before deploying to Korea during the Korean conflict. In 1953, he was discharged at Treasure Island in San Francisco, CA, and took a bus back to Missouri. Tom liked what he saw in California and knew he wanted to come back someday. In 1967, he and Dee made that happen when they sold everything they had, packed the truck and camper they bought, and headed out west. They stopped in Phoenix, AZ, for a few months where Tom attended welding school, before finally settling down in Delhi, CA, close to family.

Tom is survived by his two sons, Terry (Marty) Walker and Shorty (Susan) Walker, both of Denair, CA; his daughter, Robin (Greg) Fiorini of Turlock; two much loved granddaughters, Amy (Steven) White of Stevinson and Melissa Walker of Delhi; and six great-grandchildren, Jeremy, Alana, Maddy, Owen, Stevie, and Alexis. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews he was very fond of.

Along with his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his loving wife, Dee, and three brothers, David and Johnny Walker of Missouri, and Jerry Walker of California.

Private services were held. Charles was interred at Turlock Memorial Park, 575 N. Soderquist Rd., Turlock, CA.
