Danny E. Lewis of Los Banos passed away on August 1, 2015 at 83 years of age.  He was born on January 9, 1932 in Los Banos, CA the son of the late Manuel & Mary Lewis.  Danny served in the US Army 5th Regiment Combat Team stationed in Korea from 1952 to 1954.  He was employed at Youngdale’s in Turlock for many years.  Danny was an avid San Francisco 49er fan and an honorary director of the Los Banos Sportsmen’s Club.

Danny is survived by his children, Daniel Lewis (Luanne); Yvonne Lizotte (Rocky); Mark Lewis (Shelly); Michael Lewis (Jodean).  Nine grandchildren, Kelsey & Mason Lewis; Steven Silva (Chrystal); Lindsey, Lacey & Cade Lewis; Isaac, Ty & Jake Lewis and three great-grandchildren, Travis, Lily & Kipp Silva. Brothers Gilbert Lewis (Sandra); Ernie Lewis (Donna) and Richard Lewis (Loretta).

Danny was preceded in death by his wife, Cookie Lewis, in 2006.

The family would like to thank Adeline Caton, Amanda Bascue and Steve Rebelo for their love and care of Danny.  

Visitation is scheduled at Whitehurst Funeral Chapel in Los Banos on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 from 5:00-7:00 pm with Rosary to follow at 7:00 pm.  Mass will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2015 at 10:00 am at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Los Banos.  Burial will follow at 12:30 pm at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery, Santa Nella.
