Donald was born in San Francisco, CA to Otto and Dorothy Ulrich and passed away on December 27, 2022, at the age of 88.  He graduated from Sequoia High School in Redwood City in 1952 and from UC Davis in 1956.  In 1957 he married Saralee Ritchey, who he met when they both attended college in the Sacramento area.  They shared 65 years of marriage.

Don loved fishing, golfing with his friends and family, and cheering on his beloved San Francisco 49ers and Giants.  He saved his greatest love and passion for his family and started many family vacation traditions that his sons carry on today.  Don worked in the agriculture, feed and poultry industries for 39 years.  During that time, he worked for Hess and Clark, Inc., Vineland, Inc., Niemeyer Chicken Farms and Nutrius, Inc.  In 1964 he started his own almond farm in Denair and owned it until the time of his passing.  Don was an industry leader in agriculture and was a past board member and president of California Feed and Grain Association in 1995. He was a governing board member for the Gratton School District and Board of Directors member for the Cortez Growers Association.  Don also served twice on the board of the Turlock Golf and Country Club.

He was a prolific writer of letters to the editor to The Modesto Bee and had 16 letters published on political issues.

He is survived by his wife Saralee Ulrich; children Donald Theodore Ulrich Jr. of Clovis, Dirk Arthur Ulrich of Ballico and Douglas Allen Ulrich of Denair; brother Robert Ulrich of San Mateo; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
