Duane was born in Turlock and was a lifelong resident.  He graduated from Turlock High School where he played both football and baseball.  After High School, Duane served in the National Guard for six years.  He worked in the family business, Curtesy Oil, for 56 years during that time he drove truck for the family business for over 40 years.  He coached Turlock Youth Football and Little League for many years.  More recently, he treasured time spent with his grandchildren and enjoyed watching football.

Duane is survived by his children Curtis (Christina) Olesen, Jon Olesen, Michael (Kara) Olesen and Darlene Stamps; brother Craig Olesen; grandchildren Curtis, Jordan, Elli, Nolan, Jimmie, Mickila and Jacob; great grandchildren Landon, Liam and Lilah.  He was preceded in death by his parents Curtis and Vera Olesen.
