Edward Meyer, 71, of Denair, lost his battle with cancer at Turlock Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born to Edward H. and Elizabeth Meyer in Oakland. After his high school graduation, Edward attended trade school and got his start as an auto mechanic. For many years he ran his own business specializing in the repair of imported cars. In 1958 he married Irene Francis. They were married for 47 years before her death in 2005.  

Edward was preceded in death by his parents and by his wife Irene. He is survived by children, Martin (Kathleen) Jacobs of Union City, Darlene (Steven) Olive of Westport, Wash.,  Denise Meyer of Denair and Edward Kenneth Meyer of Pahrump, Nev.; three grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
