Floyd Miner, 83, passed away at UC Davis Medical Center after an extended illness. Floyd was born in Payne County, Oklahoma to John and Eloise Miner. He attended schools in Oklahoma, Kansas, and high school in San Francisco. While working in San Francisco he was introduced to his future wife, Rose Marie Duffey, through a family member. They were married in 1951 and started their family while living in San Francisco. He began his driving career with UPS and worked a total of 41 years as a truck driver, mostly with refrigerated transportation. He was a hard worker and at one time owned and operated the first licensed Ice Cream street vendor in San Francisco. The family lived in Santa Rosa and Fremont before settling in Turlock in 1966. Floyd was active with the Moose Lodge and with the Church of God 7th Day in Lodi, California. 

Floyd was preceded in death by his parents and, in 2012, by his beloved wife of 61 years, Rose Marie, and by a sister Floris Holloway in 2013. He is survived by his children: Dwight (Nina) Miner of Redwood City CA, David (Henrietta) Miner of Elk Grove CA, Timothy Miner of Lead Hill, Arkansas, Daniel (Robynn) Miner of Turlock, Karen Summers of Nepal, and Sharon Fawcett of Galena, Missouri, a brother David B. Miner of Rose Hill, Kansas, 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. 

Visitation will be at Allen Mortuary on Thursday, Dec. 11th from 11 am to 5 pm. A Graveside Service will be held at Turlock Memorial Park at 1 pm on Friday, Dec. 12th. Memorial gifts are encouraged for the Faithful Servant Memorial Fund at the Church of God 7th Day, 2100 Tienda Drive, Lodi CA 95242.
