A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 17 for Francisca Gardea Sandoval of Patterson, who died Tuesday at Memorial Medical Center in Modesto.
Mrs. Sandoval, 82, was born in Santa Barbara de Chihuahua, Mexico and lived in Patterson for 18 years. She previously lived in Sunnyvale. Francisca was a housewife and a wonderful support to her husband, Carlos Torres Sandoval, of 55 happy years. Before moving to Sunnyvale, she lived with her family in Cupertino on the Saich Brothers Ranch.
She was a member of the Iglesia Cristiana Pentecostes Emanuel of Patterson and a former member of New Life in Christ Church of Patterson and Templo Monte Horeb of Sunnyvale, where both Carlos and Francisca found Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour 40 years ago. Francisca loved reading the Bible and praying for her loved ones.
Mrs. Sandoval is survived by three daughters, Linda Sandoval of Patterson, Cecilia Gonzalez of Mountain View and Christina Mesa of Hayward; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Sandoval is survived also by her brother, Juan De Dios Gardea of Oxnard.
She was preceded in death by her four sisters and four brothers, Robert, Enrique, Questin, Jose, Maria De La Felix, Guadalupe Salamenca, Herlinda Corral and Doloris Delgado Gardea, all of Mexico.
Saturday's visitation will be observed at 10:30 a.m. and service begins at 11 a.m. at Patterson Covenant Church, 435 W. Las Palmas Ave., in Patterson. There will be a potluck to follow at the same location.
