Gene Thomas passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, February 21st at his home in Turlock.
He lived most of his life in Turlock and worked many years for Thompson Chevrolet in Patterson until retirement. He was a simple man with a great sense of humor who loved his family, working, family gatherings, playing Portuguese horseshoes and coffee at Cindy’s Restaurant with his buddies Al & Deborah. He was loved by his family, great friends and anyone who met him.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Shirley; two daughters and son in laws Ginger & Forest Fernandez and Julie & Alfredo Sousa; his “favorite” Grandson Dustin and his wife Amie, great-granddaughters Dahlia & Dallas; sister in law Pat Olson, brothers in law Tony and Larry Avila; a sister Arlene Thomas; two brothers Ken and Dennis Thomas and their wives; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Mark Thomas. A private gathering with family will be held to honor his life.
