A memorial service for Helen Walters, 92, of Modesto, will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 27 at Hilmar Covenant Church, 20056 W. American Ave., Hilmar. It will be officiated by Pastor Bruce Metcalf. Burial will be private.
She was a homemaker for 60 years and a member of Hilmar Covenant Church. Helen was active in the community, Girl Scouts, 4-H, Meals on Wheels for seniors, Emanuel Hospital Auxiliary, as well at the Covenant Church. She was a true Proverbs 31 woman; she had such compassion, hospitality and mercy to all who knew her. She was so loved and will be missed. Helen was married to William A. Walters for 48 years before his passing in 1984; he was the love of her life.
She is survived by sons, Bert William Walters of Turlock, Jess Lee Walters of Elk Grove and Lewis V. Walters of Denair; daughter, Linda Sue Wiggs and her husband, Bob, of Modesto (He was her favorite son-in-law!!!); brother, Don Porter Silcock of Montana; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.
