Jake was born in Arnhem, The Netherlands, and immigrated to the United States shortly after marrying his wife of 51 years, Jannette. They moved from Riverside, Calif. to Turlock in 1978, and lived there until his death.  Jake was an engineer who worked for Varco Pruden until his retirement.  He was very active in both the Turlock Sunrise Rotary and the First United Methodist Church.  Jake will be remembered as a loving husband, wonderful and giving father and grandfather, loyal friend, and a man who loved giving his time and talents to those people and organizations that he loved.

He is survived by his wife, Jannette deBos; daughter, Marianne Pitchford; son, Rob deBos; brother, Jo deBos; and grandchildren, Michaela and Jacob deBos, and Joshua Pitchford. 

A memorial service will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 2 at the First United Methodist Church, located at 1660 Arbor Way, Turlock.
