John Delgado, 53, of Delhi, died tragically in a motorcycle accident near his home in Delhi. John was born in McAllen, TX, one of twelve children born to Lazaro and Aniceta (Garcia) Delgado. The family moved to Turlock, CA when John was 6. He graduated in 1977 from Turlock High School and married his high school sweetheart Laurie Silva shortly afterward. John was a rugged outdoorsman. He enjoyed the mountains, four-wheeling, archery, motorcycling, and muscle cars. But, he truly loved his beautiful wife and family and his church.

John was a highly respected business owner and cabinet maker. He was described as “a man after God’s own heart” – the kind of friend you’d call when you needed a listening ear or a word of Godly counsel. John was a leader in his church and an active member of the “Lion of Judah Motorcycle Club.” John was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. His family and friends are shocked and deeply saddened by this loss. He will be greatly missed.

John was preceded in death by his parents, brother Larry Delgado, father-in-law Daniel Silva, and brothers-in-law Steve Silva and “JR” Silva. He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Laurie Delgado, three children: Mandie (Anthony) Onate of Denair, Ginger (Jesse) Aguiar of Delhi, and John (Stevie) Delgado of Sacramento; grandchildren: Dominic Onate, Abigayle Onate, Jesse James Aguiar, Lillyana Aguiar, and Autumn Delgado. He was also survived by 9 siblings: Wally (Olga) Delgado, Rosie (Brian) Bluett, Jesus (Maria) Delgado, Diana (Juan) Villapudua, Irma (Tino) Sandoval, Art (Esther) Delgado, George (Mary) Delgado, Nelda (Marcel) Machado, and Melva (Jamie) Gutierrez; In-laws: Manuel & Connie Silva, Donna & Rick Davenport, and Richard Silva; and his Mother-in-law: Shirley Silva.
