Jonathan “John” Stearley passed away on Thursday, February 7, 2019 in Modesto, CA. He was 53 years old. 

John was born on September 2, 1965 to Sylvia Stearley. Raised in Modesto, he spent his early years there, where he graduated from Downey High School. He traveled between both Modesto and Turlock his entire life. 

A hardworking young man, John spent his younger days working at the Melon Packing Shed in Turlock. In his later years, he worked at Seneca as a fork lift driver. In his spare time, John enjoyed fishing and would cast his hook with just about anyone who was willing to go with him. 

John was preceded in death by his grandparents, his aunts, many uncles and cousin. He is survived by his mother and step-father, Sylvia and David; his adopted father, Dale; his daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Kevin Rogers; three grandchildren: Caleb, Emma and Christian; sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Doug Schmidt; nieces, Rhianna and Tiffani; nephew, Nicolas; great-niece, Adilyn and his great-nephew, Dougie. 

A viewing will be held from 12 – 2 p.m., followed by the graveside service at 2 p.m., at Turlock Funeral Home, 425 N. Soderquist Rd., Turlock.
