Linda John, 53, of Turlock, passed away at Alexander Cohen Hospice House. Linda had lived her whole life with challenges. She was born in Spokane, WA, the first of two girls born to David and Valerie John. The family moved to California when Linda was two. When she was still very young, her father was killed in an auto accident. Her mother married Howard Lower a few years later and Linda grew up with a great love and respect for both of her parents, Howard "Poppa" and Valerie Lower. Howard and Valerie were involved in the leadership of the choir and activities of Christian Berets and the Joyful Sounds Choir. Their choir, which grew to 65 voices, sang in area churches and even travelled to the Grand Canyon together.
Linda was a victorious, happy, friendly person who loved her family and friends. She loved God, she loved music, she loved eating, and she loved life. She was an inspiration to many people and will be dearly missed.
Visitation for Linda will be at Allen Mortuary on Thursday, May 3rd from 4 - 6 pm. A Celebration of Life will be held at Allen Mortuary on Friday, May 4th, 1:30 pm. Burial will follow at Turlock Memorial Park. Memorial Contributions may be considered for Turlock Community Fellowship or United Cerebral Palsy. Please leave memories and condolences at www.allenmortuary.com.
