Shirley Mae (Hawkins) Sperry, 74, passed away peacefully in Modesto on July 29 after experiencing complications from a broken hip. Shirley was born in Missouri and moved to Livingston when she was four years old. She attended both elementary school and high school in Livingston. Early in life she was a mother, homemaker, bowler, and a cook. While her children were in high school, Shirley worked as a waitress at Livingston’s famous Blueberry Hill Restaurant. She also worked at Tahoe Inn Restaurant in South Lake Tahoe, and at Lyon’s Restaurant in Turlock for 23 years.  
Shirley is survived by three daughters, four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, three sisters and two brothers.
The family is having a private cremation.
