It wasn't pretty, but it was a win. The Warriors ended the weekend with two victories after edging UC San Diego, 57-55, Saturday night at Fitzpatrick Arena.

Evan Scott scored 13 and Reggie Jones chipped in 10 and that was enough for the victory as Cal State Stanislaus improved to 5-7 overall and 3-5 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association. Scott also had eight rebounds and three blocked shots.

The Warriors ended the Tritons' nine-game winning streak over them, beating UCSD for the first time since Jan. 6, 2006.

Christian Hatch led all players with 17 points — 11 from the free throw line — and 12 rebounds for UC San Diego as the Tritons fall to 8-6 overall and 3-5 in the CCAA. Tyler McGrath added 13 and Justin Brue had 11 points.

"We wanted to win two this weekend and we did that, so in that respect it feels great," Stanislaus head coach Larry Reynolds said.

The Cal State Stanislaus men's basketball team will have the task of taking on defending national champion Cal Poly Pomona at Pomona on Friday. They will also face Cal State San Bernardino, where Reynolds used to coach.
