The Turlock Unified School District recently hired more than sixty positions while other districts in our county are having trouble finding teachers. We have excellent teachers and innovative programs that, unfortunately, have waiting lists. Our high schools feature unique educational opportunities that prepare our students for a vocation right out of high school as well as prepare our students to compete well at major universities.
After polling the community and assessing our needs, the Board has prioritized the District’s needs. Measures N and O will address those needs. School safety is important to our community while assuring the public’s right to access school facilities. S.T.E.M. programs will help our students prepare for a job right out of high school or prepare for the technology our students will use in college. Our Board has maintained a number of original buildings at various school sites and temporary buildings beyond their expected lifetimes. It is time to replace or modernize 50- and 60-year old buildings with the ability to connect to technology and to make them more efficient, especially our cafeterias.
The schools in Turlock have a tradition of excellence that has continued for over a century. Please join me in ensuring that the tradition continues by voting YES on Measures N and O.
