Classic rock band Kansas is joining the line-up of performers set for the 2014 Stanislaus County Fair.

“Kansas has paved the way for many rock groups and artists,” said Adrenna Alkhas, spokesperson for the Stanislaus County Fair. “We are thrilled to have them perform at the Stanislaus County Fair.”

The band has produced eight gold albums, three sextuple-platinum albums, one platinum live album and a million-selling gold single, “Dust in the Wind.” Kansas appeared on the Billboard charts for over 200 weeks throughout the 70s and 80s and played to sold-out arenas and stadiums throughout North America, Europe and Japan. “Carry On Wayward Son” was the second most played track on classic rock radio in 1995 and went to number one in 1997.

Kansas will perform on the Bud Light Variety Free Stage at 8:30 p.m. July 12.

Other entertainers scheduled to perform during the fair’s 10-day run include Wynonna and the Big Noise, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, and Rodney Atkins.

All concerts are free with the price of admission.
