Bar fight ends with arrest

The Turlock Police Department arrested a man Sunday night on allegations he tried to run someone over with his car.

The arrested man, Isidro Monroy, 21, was charged with driving under the influence, assault with a deadly weapon, evading a peace officer and reckless driving.

The incident began just after 2 a.m. Sunday in the 100 block of S. Broadway.

Officers were dispatched to the location for a report of a large fight in the street. As officers were arriving they saw security guards running after a vehicle with three Hispanic men inside.

Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver, identified as Monroy, sped away.

The pursuit lasted only a few blocks and came to an end when Monroy crashed the vehicle into a tree, according to the police report.

Monroy attempted to flee on foot, but was apprehended.

The two other passengers in the vehicle, Jose Soria Rodriguez, 23, and David Monroy, 24, were both arrested for public intoxication.

According to the police report, Isidro Monroy allegedly attempted to run over someone standing in the 100 block of S. Broadway.
