The Stanislaus County District Attorney’s  Office Victim Services Program will sponsor the 12th annual lighting of the Homicide  Victims’ Memorial Tree and Candlelight Vigil at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
The ceremony will be held on the Courthouse Lawn located at 1100 I St. in Modesto. District Attorney Birgit Fladager will open the ceremony. The program will include Detective Craig Grogan of the  Modesto Police Department and Deputy District Attorney John Mayne. Carolyn Chiesa will provide special music and light refreshments will be provided.
Friends and family of homicide victims are invited to attend and bring a non-breakable ornament to hang on the tree in remembrance of their loved ones who are not around to celebrate the holiday season due to the criminal acts of others.
In case of rain, the program will be moved to the parking garage at 832 12th St., across from the courthouse.
