The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the death of a man found in a Turlock field Tuesday night.

The sheriff’s department has classified the man’s death as a homicide.

The department has released very few details about the incident, including the man’s name or age.

The victim was found by family members who grew concerned about his safety when he didn’t return from work as night fell.

The victim was plowing fields on his tractor in the 2400 block of S. Walnut Road. As time passed and no one had heard from him, a few family members drove to the field around 8 p.m. Tuesday and found him deceased.

The sheriff’s department has not stated a cause of death. Nor would they state why they are not releasing the man’s name. Typically the information is held to notify next of kin, but in this case it was family members who made the discovery.

Anyone with possible information in regards to this investigation is encouraged to contact Detective Greg Buck of the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department at 525-7103.
