Fatal shooting sixth Turlock homicide for 2017

The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department continues their investigation into a shooting on the outskirts of Turlock that claimed the life of one man.

The victim was identified by the sheriff’s department as Victor Enriquez, 27, of Turlock.

Few details have been released about the death and the sheriff’s department said the investigation is ongoing.

Around 8:35 p.m. Saturday the sheriff's department responded to a 911 call reporting a person had been shot in the 100 block of Simmons Road in Turlock.

The first deputies to arrive found a man in the driveway with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives processed the scene for evidence and interviewed witnesses. At this time, there is no suspect information.

This marked the sixth homicide to happen in the Turlock area this year. All six cases remain open and no arrests have been made.

On Jan. 29, the burned remains of Juan Carlos Ledesma-Infante, 39, of Stockton were found in a vehicle in the 5300 block of Griffin Road, between Taylor and Keyes roads. That case was assigned to the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department.

On Feb. 9, the Turlock Police Department began an investigation into the fatal shooting of Javier Manuel Zuniga, 46, of Turlock, who was shot to death at the Venice Motel at 1114 N. Golden State Boulevard.

On June 15, Joga Shergill, 54, of Turlock was shot to death and found in a dirt lot in the area of W. Glenwood and Lander avenues. The case is being investigated by the Turlock Police Department.

On July 25, Norberto Martinez, 36, of Turlock was found shot to death in the 1500 block of Golf Road. The homicide is being investigated by the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department.

On Aug. 1, Gregory Mendoza, 29, of Turlock died from injuries he sustained in an attack in the 100 block of West F Street. The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the death.
