A teenager is under arrest for breaking into a Turlock home and stealing multiple guns and the safe they had been stored in.

The suspect was identified as a 17-year-old boy from Turlock. Because he is a minor his name was not released.

The burglary was reported around 6 p.m. Saturday in the 1100 block of Parnell Avenue.

The Turlock Police Department received a call of a burglary where a safe that contained several rifles had been taken from the home.

“The victim advised that while he was reviewing his video surveillance he noticed a suspect who he had seen on his surveillance was currently in his backyard,” said Turlock Police spokesman Sgt. Russ Holeman. “The subject in the victim's backyard was wearing the same clothing as the person shown in the video surveillance.”

Officers responded and made contact with the teenager, who was later arrested on suspicion of burglary.

All of the guns were found stashed away in a detached garage.
