Motorcyclist killed in Turlock traffic collision
emergency

The Turlock Police Department is investigating a collision between a vehicle and a motorcycle in a Turlock neighborhood that resulted in the death of a 22-year-old man.

The deceased was identified by the police department as Eduardo Guevara, 22, of Turlock.

The collision happened around 12:46 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of Lander and Bernell avenues. The intersection is controlled by posted stop signs.

The police are still working on what caused the collision. It is known Guevara was driving a motorcycle south on Lander Avenue and struck a vehicle that was headed westbound through the intersection onto Bernell Avenue. The front of the motorcycle collided with the rear side of the vehicle, said Turlock Police spokesman Sgt. Michael Parmley.

"Officers are still collecting and reviewing video footage of the accident," Parmley said.

Guevara sustained serious injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital where he underwent surgery, but later died from his injuries, according to the police department.

The other driver suffered minor injury and declined to be transported to the hospital.

Alcohol or drugs do not appear to be a factor in this collision.
