Motorcyclists wounded in highway shooting

Two motorcycle riders were shot by an unknown assailant while riding on Highway 99 in Delhi on Saturday morning, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The two men were riding with a large group of motorcycle riders when they were struck by the gunfire. They were both taken to nearby hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.

The motorcyclists were on northbound Highway 99, just south of Shanks Road when the shots were fired.

The highway was shut down for several hors for the investigation and as officers collected evidence.

There was no suspect information available, nor anything on a possible motive.
