Murder suspect arrested in DUI stop

A traffic stop on a potential drunk driver in Delhi By the California Highway Patrol led to the apprehension of a murder suspect out of Fresno.
Around 10 p.m. Saturday, Merced CHP Officers Collin Lowry and Scott Woodring made a traffic stop at Hillside Drive and South avenue in Delhi on a suspected drunk driver.
When the officers were verifying the driver’s name, they learned he was a suspect in a murder that had occurred earlier that night in Fresno.
The driver was identified as 35-year-old Gregory Webb of Fresno. Webb was wanted by the Fresno Police Department as a suspect in the death of his roommate, Lammone Yommaram, 22, of Fresno.
According to the Fresno Police Department, Webb suddenly attacked and stabbed Yommaram Saturday night, in front of the victim’s family.
The officers also determined that the car Webb was driving, a 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe, was stolen out of Fresno.
Webb was arrested for driving under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of a stolen vehicle, and possession of stolen property. He was later turned over to the Fresno Police Department and booked into the Fresno County Jail.
