A graduation party went out of control Sunday night when uninvited guests fired a gun and assaulted two people, the Turlock Police Department reported.

The two victims sustained minor non-life threatening injuries in the altercation, said Turlock Police spokesperson Officer Mayra Lewis.

The incident was reported shortly before 1 a.m. Sunday at a home in the 3600 block of Nicole Court. Several neighbors reported hearing gunshots and an assault in progress, Lewis said.

The trouble began when several uninvited guests showed up at the party. The individuals got upset when they were denied entrance and started damaging the outside of the home.

Two of the guests went outside to tell the party crashers to leave and in response the party crashers turned on them and started beating them. It was during this altercation that people reported hearing the shots fired. No one was hit.

The party crashers left the area before police arrived.
