A 16-year-old boy walking to Pitman High School was struck by a car Thursday morning.

The boy sustained non-life threatening injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital by ambulance, the Turlock Police Department reported.

The collision was reported around 8 a.m. Thursday in the area of N. Kilroy Road and Christoffersen Parkway.

The 16-year-old was crossing Christoffersen in a crosswalk when he was struck by a vehicle that was turning right from Kilroy onto Christoffersen, according to the police report.

The driver, identified as Marie Rodriguez, 50, told officers she didn’t see the teen as she turned.

Rodriguez was cited for being an unlicensed driver and failure to yield to a pedestrian.
