Sexual assault reported at Broadway Park
TPD crime scene

For the second time in three weeks the Turlock Police Department is investigating a kidnapping and sexual assault that reportedly began at a Turlock park.

The most recent incident reportedly happened at Broadway Park on Saturday. A 21-year-old woman told police she was sexually assaulted by three men who snatched her from the park.

The woman said she was walking through the park around 7 a.m. Saturday. She said she was headed to a bus stop when she was approached by three men.

The woman claims the men grabbed and blindfolded her and took her away from the park. She told the police she was taken to a garage and sexually assaulted by the three men before eventually being released.

The woman later took a bus to Modesto and flagged down a Modesto Police Officer and told him of the incident.

The only description of the three men was that they were adults and possibly transients, according to the woman’s statement.

On Nov. 23, a 44-year-old woman at Donnelly Park said she was taken at knifepoint by a lone man and sexually assaulted in a nearby alley. There was no description given of the suspect.

Both cases remain open investigations and anyone with information is asked to contact the Turlock Police Department at 668-5550.
