The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department is seeking the public’s help in locating a man suspected of killing a Lodi woman.
The woman, who was identified as Beranea Moreno, 25, of Lodi was found deceased in a vehicle near Woodward Reservoir on Monday.
The suspect in Moreno’s killing has been identified by the sheriff’s department as Jose Manuel Gonzalez Silva, 30.
Moreno was found by a passerby around 2 a.m. Monday. The passerby reported finding what appeared to be a deceased woman in a four-door Toyota Corolla parked on the shoulder of Milton Road, near Highway 4, in the unincorporated area of Farmington.
The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Crimes Against Person team responded to the scene to investigate. The vehicle was towed to the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Coroner Facility with the female in it to preserve evidence and provide for a controlled environment for investigative purposes.
An autopsy was performed and it was determined that Moreno was the victim of a homicide, said Stanislaus County Sheriff spokesman Sgt. Joshua Clayton. The vehicle she was found in was registered to her.
A Ramey warrant has been issued for Silva in connection to
the homicide. Silva is believed to be driving a lowered dark blue GMC Yukon
with black rims (possible 22-inch). The license plate is still unknown. Prior
to the homicide Detectives believe Silva and Moreno were in an intimate
relationship living together in Stockton.
