The Turlock Police Department is investigating a beer run that took a violent turn and could lead to robbery charges for three men if apprehended.

The robbery was reported at 3:28 a.m. Sunday at the AM/PM store at 2015 W. Main St.

Three unidentified Hispanic males entered the store and asked to use the restroom, but instead picked up four cases of beer from a display and ran for the door, said Turlock Police Lt. Carl Nielsen.

The store clerk tried to stop the robbery and for his troubles, he was punched in the head by one suspect and pushed over by another. He did not require medical treatment, Nielsen said.

The three suspects were last seen driving west on Main Street in a white Chrysler vehicle.
