The Turlock Police Department is investigating a drive-by shooting that appears to be a random attack.

The shooting was occurred around 11:45 p.m. Wednesday. There were no injuries reported.

A 42-year-old woman was driving in the area of S. Walnut Road when she heard several gunshots coming from the vehicle driving behind her. When she got home she found several bullet holes in the trunk of her car, said Turlock Police spokesperson Sgt. Neil Cervenka.

Officers checked the area and did find multiple shell casings.

The woman said the vehicle appeared to be a silver Honda Accord. A similar looking vehicle was stopped in the area, but found not to be involved in the shooting, Cervenka said.

The victim had no idea why someone would be shooting at her car and had not been involved in any altercation.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact Officer Nicole White at 668-5550 or leave a tip on the tip line at 668-5550 extension 6780 or email at tpdtipline@turlock.ca.us.
