MJC seeks donations to help Haitian students

Modesto Junior College has established a fund to receive donations for the families of three Haitian students who attend MJC, following the Jan. 12 earthquake.
The international students attend MJC through the Cooperative Association of States for Scholarship program.
All three students have been able to contact their immediate family members, who survived the quake, but at least one home was destroyed and a student’s nephew and niece died. Living conditions for the students’ surviving family members are poor, with basic needs of food, water, and shelter going unmet.
Donation checks should be made out to the MJC Foundation with the notation “For MJC Haitian students” and delivered or mailed to Gene Hill, Executive Director, MJC Foundation, Morris Administration Building 209, 435 College Ave., Modesto, CA 95350.
To donate online, visit https://npo.networkforgood.org/Donate/Donate.aspx?npoSubscriptionId=1001817 and reference the MJC Haitian Students Fund in the comment bar. Online donations are not tax-deductible.
