The 2019 Art of Design: Home & Garden Tour includes self-guided tours of four uniquely designed homes.

The Carnegie Arts Center is once again highlighting architecture, interior and landscape design in a fundraising event that brings many different art forms together. The 2019 Art of Design: Home & Garden Tour includes self-guided tours of four uniquely designed homes – inside and out.

From a classic historic home to a contemporary showplace, from a modernist “green” design to a country ranch, all four homes will be open for public tours 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 11.

The $30 ticket price ($25 for Carnegie members) supports the city's nonprofit Carnegie Arts Center. It marks the second year that the Carnegie has worked with local homeowners and design professionals to feature The Art of Design.  On the four-home tour attendees will also find artists painting en plein air, poets creating new work on the spot, musicians filling the spring air and more. Each home will have a creative twist to enliven the space and highlight the variety of artistic endeavors the Carnegie routinely presents.

A special evening preview Twilight Tour is scheduled for 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. May 10 at one of the most unique homes on the tour. Event attendees will have the first look at this elegant home and will enjoy live music, delicious farm-to-garden delicacies, regional wine and beer, and the opportunity to win gifts in an art, design and fine living raffle. Tickets to the Twilight Tour are $60 for Carnegie members, $75 for non-members and include admission to all four homes during the Saturday tour as well.

Tickets for the Friday Twilight Tour and the Saturday Home & Garden Tour are available to purchase on-line at www.CarnegieArtsTurlock.Eventbrite.com, by phone (209) 632-5761, x104, or in person at the Carnegie Arts Center, 250 N. Broadway, Turlock. Ticket purchasers will receive addresses for the homes on the tour.
