For the 16th consecutive year, Main Street Denair will trade its everyday quiet for the roar of tractors, live music, and the aroma of classic fair food as the annual Denair Farm & Family Festival returns this weekend.

The beloved community tradition will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, bringing a distinct historical flair to town. This year's official theme, "Back to Our Roots," serves as a dedicated tribute to Denair in the 1940s—the pivotal decade when the town’s agricultural footprint, family networks, and community character solidified into the identity residents recognize today.

Festival organizers are encouraging attendees to lean into the theme by arriving in their best 1940s attire or vintage military uniforms. Period-costumed re-enactors will roam the festival grounds throughout the day, available for photos with the public. Additionally, a specialized photo booth will be available for couples, friends, and families looking to recreate the iconic sailor-and-nurse kiss that famously marked the end of World War II.

More than 100 vendors are scheduled to line Main Street, offering an array of food, handmade crafts, and local agricultural goods. To boost engagement, the festival is introducing an interactive social media contest. Attendees who take a photo with a vendor, post it online, and tag the official page using the hashtag #denairfestival will be entered to win. Four winners will be selected via social media to receive prizes supplied by local merchants. In a unique twist, the specific vendors featured in those winning photographs will also receive a prize.

Children's activities and hands-on games will be running across the grounds all day to keep younger attendees entertained. The festival will also see the return of a crowd favorite: "Pappy" the Steam Tractor, brought to the event in partnership with Kinetic Steamworks out of Oakland. The massive, live-steam machine will be operational during the event, offering a sensory link to the 1940s theme.

The Denair Farm & Family Festival is organized entirely by the Denair Farm & Family Association, an all-volunteer nonprofit organization. All proceeds generated by the event are funneled directly into a scholarship fund benefiting graduating seniors at Denair High School.
