A Hilmar man sustained major injuries when the motorcycle he was riding was struck by a vehicle that turned in front of him, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision between the motorcycle and the vehicle happened around 4 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of Bradbury Road and Flowers Street in Delhi.
A 1998 Plymouth Breeze, driven by Luis Manuel Azevedo, 62, of Delhi, was headed westbound on Bradbury.
Peter Souza, 44, of Hilmar was driving a 2015 KTM Motorcycle eastbound on Bradbury.
According to the CHP, Azevedo had slowed down to about 20 miles per hour as he made a left turn on to Flowers Street. Azevedo made the left turn directly in front of the motorcycle, which was traveling at an estimated 55 to 60 miles per hour.
The impact ejected Souza off the motorcycle. He was wearing a helmet. He was taken by Mediflight to Memorial Medical Center with lacerations to his face and arms and two broken legs, according to the CHP.
Alcohol and drugs were not factors in the collision.
