After several years of being housed within Valley View Plaza on Geer Road, Turlock’s Big Lots location has officially moved to Countryside Drive. To celebrate the new storefront, the business will host grand opening festivities on Saturday and Sunday.

“We’re thrilled to bring the Big Lots experience to Turlock with the opening of our newest location,” said Big Lots president and CEO Bruce Thorn.

The new location at 1840 Countryside Drive, which is the former home of JC Penny, will be neighbored by Staples, Clothing Ave and nearby Walmart. The space consists of 33,796 square feet of shopping and operational space, a significant increase from the business’ former space on Geer Road.

“We’ve put a lot of thought into the layout, design and visual appeal of the store to elevate the shopper experience and help our customers live bigger and better,” Thorn said.

One way in which Big Lots is ringing in the new shopper experience is by having several grand opening deals. According to a press release, shoppers can find doorbuster offers throughout the weekend. There will also be scratch-off cards handed out to the first 100 customers on each day, with up to $250 off store purchases at play.

The new location will also serve as an opportunity for Big Lots to introduce new services to the Turlock community. They will begin to offer contactless curbside pickup, same-day delivery and their Buy Online Pick Up In Store program through BigLots.com.

“This can limit interactions, while still providing friendly customer service and a top-notch shopping experience,” the company said.
